How much does counseling cost?
Our session fees range from $95-$125 per session for private pay clients. Most clients need to attend sessions weekly or bi-weekly, but often sessions get less frequent as clients begin to feel better and move toward maintaining their progress more independently.
Can I use my insurance for treatment?
We would be happy to check your eligibility and benefits to see if using insurance would make sense for you. Sometimes session fees are fully covered by insurance, and sometimes fees are less expensive when paid directly by the client due to high deductibles required by insurance. Our providers are credentialed with a variety of different insurance companies, so please contact us to see which provider could work with your insurance. Unfortunately, insurance companies will not cover our services for Couples/Marriage counseling services.
We accept the following insurances:
BCBSAL
Medicaid for children/adolescents 18 and under
United Healthcare
Cigna
Do you accept Medicaid?
Yes! However, Medicaid will only cover mental health services at our practice for those under age 19. Clients who fall into this age group will also need to obtain an EPSDT referral from their primary care physician prior to being scheduled for an appointment.
Do you offer sliding scale or discounted fees?
We are happy to accommodate counseling for individuals from different economic circumstances when possible. We sometimes have the ability to offer a sliding scale or discounted rate, depending on your personal situation. Our admin staff can give you more information regarding what documentation is needed to apply for this benefit. Also, we often have University interns under our supervision who can offer services at a highly discounted rate.

What do you need from me to get started?
Potential clients will need to be prepared with their legal name, preferred name & pronouns, date of birth, phone number, planned payment method, and insurance details if applicable (insurance company, member ID, group number, relationship to insured, insured member’s name, insured member’s DOB). Some insurance companies require a referral. We will notify you of this necessity after checking your eligibility and benefits.
How do I choose my counselor?
Each of our counselors: their training, experience and personalities are very different. Wonderfully, this allows us the opportunity to serve a diverse array of clients. There may be some limitations with which populations and areas of need our counselors work. Check out their bios or ask our admin staff for more information. If you plan to use insurance, this may also narrow your selection by which counselors are available under your coverage.
What can I expect when I come in for counseling?
Each of our counselors strive to make our practice a welcoming and inviting environment. You will be greeted by our admin staff, checked in for your appointment and then your counselor will introduce you to their space. Each of our offices are furnished with comfort in mind. The first appointment usually is used for you and your counselor to get better acquainted and for your counselor to learn more about your situation. From there, a treatment plan will be designed that is tailored to your specific needs.
